{"id":359147,"date":"2026-09-28T20:27:02","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T20:27:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/359147\/"},"modified":"2026-09-28T20:27:02","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T20:27:02","slug":"mamdani-administration-launches-new-jobs-center-for-public-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/359147\/","title":{"rendered":"Mamdani administration launches new jobs center for public service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CITYWIDE \u2014 \u00a0A NEW JOB CENTER will help New Yorkers who seek public service jobs with the city of New York, Mayor Zohran Mamdani and other officials announced on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani and commissioners from the departments of Small Business Services and Citywide Administrative Services officially launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/mayors-office\/news\/2026\/09\/mayor-mamdani-opens-new-jobs-nyc-center--connecting-new-yorkers-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Jobs NYC Center at 2 Lafayette St<\/a>. in Lower Manhattan, in conjunction with National Workforce Development Month. SBS and DCAS turned a long-vacant city-owned art exhibit space into a home for walk-in career services, workforce development events, job fairs and agency hiring halls, where staff help job seekers identify open positions, navigate the civil service process, prepare applications and connect directly with agencies that are hiring, sometimes on-the-spot.
