{"id":359653,"date":"2026-09-29T10:30:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T10:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/359653\/"},"modified":"2026-09-29T10:30:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T10:30:14","slug":"mamdanis-brilliant-economic-rx-more-government-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/359653\/","title":{"rendered":"Mamdani&#8217;s brilliant economic Rx: More government jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bringing his socialist economic chops to fix New York City\u2019s stagnant-to-sluggish jobs growth, Mayor Zohran Mamdani\u2019s new solution is to hire more government employees. <\/p>\n<p>His always-busy <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/01\/us-news\/mamdani-packing-city-hall-with-nearly-80-staffers-for-pet-projects\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">press office<\/a> and Maoist <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/24\/us-news\/mamdanis-mass-engagement-hires-will-net-cushy-six-figure-salaries-totaling-nearly-2m\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cmass engagement\u201d cadres<\/a> announced Monday a new Jobs NYC Center, a \u201chub connecting New Yorkers to careers in public service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Citywide unemployment as of August was 4.8%, about a fifth higher than the national average of 4.1%.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani\u2019s hate-the-rich, capitalism bad rhetoric hasn\u2019t helped: Finance \u2014 which provides the tax revenue to fuel Gotham\u2019s lavish social spending \u2014 has been reducing jobs in the city for long decades;
