Yaw Boahene, 57, was heading northbound on an A train when his bag got caught while he was either entering or exiting the train.<\/p>\n<p>Police said he was dragged onto the tracks at the Utica Avenue station and pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>No criminality is involved, the NYPD said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The NYPD initially said the man&#8217;s backpack got caught in the doors, but later revised that.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/man-killed-nyc-subway-dragging-accident-columbus-circle\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">similar incident<\/a>\u00a0happened in October 2022.
