{"id":359966,"date":"2026-09-29T18:14:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T18:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/359966\/"},"modified":"2026-09-29T18:14:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T18:14:09","slug":"news-12-bronx-man-pleads-not-guilty-in-deadly-bronx-deli-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/359966\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Bronx | Man Pleads Not Guilty In Deadly Bronx Deli Shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">A 31-year-old man has pleaded not guilty Tuesday in connection with the <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/man-dead-after-being-shot-in-chest-during-gunpoint-robbery-inside-bronx-deli\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">deadly shooting of a customer<\/a> during a robbery at a Bronx deli last month.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Jesus Acosta, 31, is accused of fatally shooting 33-year-old Tayvvon Schuler during the Aug. 25 robbery at a deli on East 149th Street.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">According to prosecutors, Acosta allegedly shot Schuler before going behind the counter and stealing money from the register.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Prosecutors have also accused Acosta of firing at three other people inside the deli but missing.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\"><a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/man-arrested-in-2-nyc-homicides-after-weeklong-manhunt\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Acosta was arrested Aug. 29<\/a> following a multiday manhunt.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Police said an anonymous tip led officers to a park in Soundview, where he was taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The Bronx case is one of two deadly shootings Acosta is accused of carrying out just days apart.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Acosta has also been<a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/bronx-man-accused-in-2-nyc-killings-indicted-in-deadly-brooklyn-shooting\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> indicted in Brooklyn<\/a> in connection with the <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/brooklyn.news12.com\/man-killed-another-wounded-in-shooting-inside-brownsville-restaurant\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fatal shooting of 44-year-old MD Yousuf<\/a> at <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/brooklyn-community-mourns-hearing-news-of-second-fatal-shooting-with-same-gunman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">American Best Wings &amp;
