Beckham’s release comes just a few days after the Giants’ win over the Tennessee Titans, a game in which he received his first target of the regular season. His second stint in New York will come to a close without hauling in a catch.

OBJ spent the first five seasons of his career with the Giants as a face of the franchise alongside quarterback Eli Manning and recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in four of five seasons to begin his career.

The Cleveland Browns acquired Beckham ahead of the 2019 season, which is where he spent three seasons before single-season stints with the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins from 2021-2024.

The Giants, particularly their offense, find themselves in a difficult spot in the early stages of the season, having lost starting quarterback Jaxson Dart for the season after he suffered a knee injury during a loss to the Rams.
