NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — On this episode of “Tiempo,” we’ll highlight Hispanic-Serving Institution Lehman College. They just opened their first student residence hall in August.

Located inside the newly renovated and landmarked Art Deco Dollar Savings Bank building at 2530 Grand Concourse in the Bronx, it provides apartment-style living for more than 180 students.

Lehman College is the only CUNY senior college with a Hispanic majority undergraduate student population. It offers extensive academic programs, support initiatives, and research institutes specifically tailored to its Latino student body and the broader Bronx community.

We’ll have Lehman College President Fernando Delgado join us to discuss more.

Also in this episode, we’ll also talk about the Latinidad Library at the Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center.

The library-created in partnership with the United Way of New York City and Catholic Charities of New York-is a free community space for children, teens, and caregivers, featuring books by Latino authors, bilingual and Spanish-language titles, and resources for reading, writing, and learning.

Right now, the library seeks to expand access to literacy, inspire a lifelong love of reading within the neighborhood’s youth, and offer people of Washington Heights a place to connect, get inspired, and celebrate their cultural identity.

Joining us to discuss more is Eddie Silverio, the director of Alianza Dominica.
