Cabaret favorite Roberto Araujo will return to the stage\u00a0with a new solo show November 13, titled\u00a0Wait ‘Til You\u00a0See What’s Next. Planned for 7 PM, the bilingual concert evening will be held at The Green Room 42 at Hudson Local, a newly opened expansion of the Manhattan cabaret mainstay. The new space is in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, inside the Ink48 Hotel at 653 11th Avenue. The concert will also stream live.<\/p>\n
Araujo’s new show will see him exploring “the messy, tender space between what was and what’s ahead,”\u00a0according to press notes, featuring songs by Jason Robert Brown<\/a>, Steven Lutvak<\/a>, Jeanine Tesori<\/a>, Bad Bunny, and more. M\u00f3nica Huarte is directing the evening, which will feature music direction by Yasuhiko Fukuoka<\/a>.<\/p>\n Wait ‘Til You See What’s Next follows Araujo’s Bistro Award-winning\u00a0I\u00a0Just Wanted You to Know, which premiered at The Green Room 42 in 2023 and returned for an encore in 2024; and\u00a0Do You Dream in Spanish in 2019, also at The Green Room 42.<\/p>\n \u201cWe spend so much of our lives waiting for what\u2019s next that we forget what\u2019s now,\u201d says Araujo in a statement. \u201cThis show is an invitation to sit inside the in-between with me for an evening. Because now is the only place any of us actually get to live. I wanted to honor the significant things that have happened since my last show. Life keeps happening while you\u2019re trying to process the last thing. Creating this show gave me the space to breathe and begin to understand what those experiences have meant to me. So here I am, ready to share what I’ve learned about loss, presence, and why connecting with an audience is work I can’t live without.”<\/p>\n A multi-hyphenate artist, Araujo is also a photographer and video producer whose work has been featured in Playbill, ANIMIZE Magazine, and Beautiful Magazine.
