After being ruled against by the Ohio Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio, Hall was left ineligible after the NCAA was granted a stay on a previous injunction. Alas, the fight is not over for the talented forward, as he is now taking his case to home soil.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn June 2026, the NCAA abolished the four-seasons-in-five-years framework under which Plaintiff’s seasons were counted and replaced it with an age-based model that grants five years of competition with no limit on the number of seasons of participation,\u201d the court documents for Hall read. It declined to grandfather the athletes who had complied with the rule it was discarding, including Plaintiff and others similarly-situated in his class.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n While no final ruling has been made in the Ohio case, Hall is moving his to try and beat the clock with the season near. He started with the UNLV Runnin\u2019 Rebels before transferring to the George Mason Patriots. His junior year was with the UCF Knights before he played last season with the Auburn Tigers.<\/p>\n While he did have an agreement in place with the Miami Heat for an Exhibit 10 contract, Hall never signed that deal after playing in the NBA Summer League for the team as well.<\/p>\n \u201cPlaintiff does not ask this Court to order the NCAA to grant him a waiver. He simply asks this Court to restrain the NCAA from three things: (1) from enforcing its seasons-of competition Bylaws to declare him ineligible; (2) from interfering with the decision of St. John’s University to let him practice and compete; and (3) from invoking its Rule of Restitution to punish anyone for obeying this Court’s order.\u201d<\/p>\n These rulings are going to have a major impact on the Red Storm. Along with Sane and Hall, the team is still waiting on a ruling for Quinn Ellis<\/a>. Reed Bailey, another player seeking a fifth year of eligibility, has a temporary restraining order from California.<\/p>\n
