{"id":361256,"date":"2026-09-30T23:06:25","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T23:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/361256\/"},"modified":"2026-09-30T23:06:25","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T23:06:25","slug":"news-12-bronx-6-guns-recovered-inside-nyc-public-schools-since-the-start-of-the-school-year-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/361256\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Bronx | 6 Guns Recovered Inside Nyc Public Schools Since The Start Of The School Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">School safety officers&#8217; union tells News 12 a total of six guns have been recovered inside <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/brooklyn.news12.com\/students-taken-into-custody-after-gun-incidents-at-bronx-brooklyn-schools\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York City Public Schools <\/a>since the start of the school year in September. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The total comes after two guns were recovered just hours apart at two different public schools on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The first incident happened inside Eximius College Prep Academy at around 11:15 a.m. after a school safety officer learned a 15-year-old boy had a warrant for his arrest. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The teen was found with a 9-millimeter handgun and a magazine with more than 20 rounds. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Hours later at around 2:07 p.m. police responded to Brooklyn High School for Law and Technology after a 17-year-old boy was also found with a handgun. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Both teens were taken into custody.
