A spokesperson said the system will connect to an existing catch basin at the southwest corner of Doty, linked to a storm sewer beneath Father Capodanno Boulevard. Borough President Vito Fossella said the project has been a priority since 2022, and the work is approved. Residents have dealt with basement flooding, dirty conditions, and damaged furniture after heavy rain and nor’easters.
