Two tragic incidents involving young people in the state’s Capital Region have rocked the community over the past year.

Youth Violence in Albany on July 4 and a mother and grandmother were accused of killing four children and themselves over the summer.

The two cases have raised questions about absenteeism in New York’s schools and fueled an ongoing effort to address the problem in Albany and beyond.

Also, the Trump administration is moving to cancel $810 million that Congress already approved for health, education and other programs.

More than $567 million of that is tied to refugee and entrant assistance.

The White House says that money is no longer needed. But now, Congress’s nonpartisan watchdog says the way the administration is trying to cancel it violates federal budget law.

Two tragic incidents involving young people in the state’s Capital Region have rocked the community over the past…

[6
22136,19662,19663,9,11,10,49,51,50,200
post-361362","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-new-york","tag-capital-tonight-show","tag-capital-tonight-staff","tag-ctv-capital-tonight-full-episode","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-headlines","tag-new-york-news","tag-new-york-state","tag-new-york-state-headlines","tag-new-york-state-news","tag-vod
["GET
