Yankees led 1-0.

The Yankees scored another run in the 5th inning when Cody Bellinger singled to right, sending Austin Wells home.

The Yankees were up 2-0 before Willson Contreras hit a home run to right-center, the first Red Sox run in 15 innings. Red Sox got on the board, Yankees led 2-1.

Spencer Jones stole second and ended up getting to third in the 6th inning after an error, eventually scoring when George Lombard Jr. hit a single.

The Yankees continued to pile it on, scoring four more times, including a Cody Bellinger home run triple, all in the 6th inning.

Nick Sogard gave the Sox a bit of hope in the 7th, hitting a home run and shortening the Yankees’ lead to 8-2.

Ultimately, the Red Sox could not overcome the beating and fell to the Yankees, 9-2.

The Red Sox were without Roman Anthony in Game 2 and, if they advanced, would have continued to be without the 22-year-old until a potential ALCS appearance.

The Yankees will advance to the ALDS to face the Tampa Bay Rays.

Red Sox season comes to an end in the Bronx, in lopsided 9-2 loss to rival Yankees CONCOURSE,…

[38
134294,134293,134291,993,134292,7064,128,13917,78392,6964,16300,26708,56202,10165,11539,20,9,24,127248,63,16811,134290,14719,1536,129,131,130,22077,16348,16301
post-361496","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-the-bronx","tag-4th-inning","tag-5th-inning","tag-6th-inning","tag-baseball","tag-bit","tag-boston","tag-bronx","tag-cody-bellinger","tag-end","tag-game","tag-home-run","tag-hope","tag-lose","tag-loss","tag-massachusetts","tag-mlb","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nick-sogard","tag-nyc","tag-red-sox","tag-red-sox-season","tag-score","tag-team","tag-the-bronx","tag-the-bronx-headlines","tag-the-bronx-news","tag-wednesday-night","tag-win","tag-yankees
["GET
