A man was killed in a stabbing attack aboard a train at a Queens subway station, according to police.

The deadly incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Woodhaven Boulevard subway station along the J/Z line, police said. A 59-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in his chest and neck while on a J train.

Surveillance video obtained by NBC New York showed the commotion that followed, as people ran out of the station.

The victim was unconscious as he was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he died, police said.

A person of interest was taken into custody. There had been a prior dispute between the victim and the attacker, but it was not immediately clear if that was a factor that led to the stabbing, according to law enforcement sources.

Witnesses described the suspect wearing what appeared to be a dark hooded sweatshirt. He was seen on security video slowly going down the stairs before running from the scene, with others running after him.

An investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.

[37
9,24,63,849,122,124,123,57074
post-361526","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-queens","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-nyc-subway","tag-queens","tag-queens-headlines","tag-queens-news","tag-subway-violence
["GET
