It comes after over a dozen people were killed in crashes involving e-vehicles this year.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Lawmakers are considering everything from mandatory liability insurance for delivery services to GPS-driven sidewalk detection systems that would slow down bikes outside traffic lanes.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">&#8220;No New Yorker should have to wonder if their next commute will be their last, no New Yorker should have to worry about their loved ones coming home at days end,&#8221; council speaker Julie Menin said during the hearing.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The committee has not yet voted on the measures.
