CQ-Roll Call, Inc via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The party boss is a staunch supporter of Israel, while Hizzoner has infamously denounced the Jewish State and even called for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Mamdani and I are in agreement that America\u2019s greatest problem is the continued growth in income disparity in our nation,\u201d Jacobs said during the mayoral election. \u201cOn how to address it \u2013 we fundamentally disagree.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, as I expressed to him directly, I strongly disagree with his views <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/11\/us-news\/young-albany-democrats-accuse-israel-of-genocide-in-gaza-sparking-civil-war-within-ny-party\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on the State of Israel<\/a>, along with certain key policy positions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jacobs, who is also the Nassau County Democratic leader, is considered a moderate voice in a party that has shifted left, with\u00a0the victories of democratic socialists including Mamdani for mayor and\u00a0candidates Darializa\u00a0 Avila Chevalier and Claire Valdez for Congress.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"   data-modal-image=\"41100139\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/GettyImages-2294784911.jpg\" alt=\"NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani speaks during a news conference at City Hall in New York, on Sept. 14, 2026.\" class=\"wp-image-41100139\"\/>NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani speaks during a news conference at City Hall in New York, on Sept. 14, 2026. His election win means he\u2019ll serve another two-year term.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored to be re-elected as New York State Democratic Party Chairman and ready to build on the success we have made to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot,\u201d Jacobs said following the party committee meeting in Tarrytown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are a diverse and united party, and we have candidates all across the state who are standing up to Donald Trump\u2019s attacks on our state and fighting for New York families.
