The officer was taken to Jacobi Hospital. Sources close to the case say the officer is listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>Details surrounding the stabbing, which occurred within the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypd52pct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">52nd Precinct<\/a>\u2018s confines, remained preliminary Friday afternoon, and police were still working to determine the circumstances of the attack.<\/p>\n<p>Police were also investigating reports that more than one suspect may have been involved.\n<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the stabbing, the NYPD canceled a previously scheduled 3 p.m. briefing at One Police Plaza where Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch and Mayor Zohran Mamdani had been set to discuss the city\u2019s quarterly crime statistics.<\/p>\n<p>Both the mayor and commissioner are heading to the Bronx to visit with the injured officer at Jacobi Hospital, according to sources.\n<\/p>\n<p>The investigation remains ongoing.\n<\/p>\n<p>This is a developing story.
