Rapper 50 Cent is bringing a street dice game to the casino floor and legendary rock band Queen is getting its own slot machine.

And those are just two of the new attractions competing for attention this week at Global Gaming Expo, which wraps up a four-day run Thursday at The Venetian hotel-casino.

G2E, the casino industry’s largest annual trade show, is where gaming manufacturers and distributors unveil and show off new slot machines, table games, cabinets and casino technology for operators from around the world.

Among the most highly-discussed debuts is 50 Cent Headcrack, a live dice game developed by TCS John Huxley and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The game is based on Cee-Lo, a three-dice game that has traditionally been played outside regulated casinos.

“Everybody in New York knows what ‘headcrack’ means — you don’t have to explain it,” Jackson said in a company release. “For a hundred years this game lived on the corner. Now it’s got a dealer, a pay table and a seat at the table in a real casino.”

Rock-and-roll royalty coming to the casino floor

At IGT’s booth, another entertainment icon made its debut.

Queen Video Slots is the first official Queen slot from IGT and features 10 songs, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Are the Champions” and “Don’t Stop Me Now.” The game incorporates photographs and videos of all four original band members and includes four bonus features and six jackpots.

“Queen is one of the rare bands with truly global reach and lasting, cross-generational appeal, making it a powerful brand for IGT to bring to casino floors,” said IGT CEO Hector Fernandez. “With Queen Video Slots, our talented studio teams tapped their passion for Queen’s music and legacy to create a high-impact game that quickly captivates music fans and slot players.”

The game also is one of the launch titles for IGT’s new Summit75 cabinet, a towering format designed to give slot content a larger physical presence on the casino floor.

Going big at G2E

Light & Wonder’s Firebird cabinet made its global debut at G2E. Firebird features a 55-inch main display, a 32-inch upper display and illuminated MLED “fire wings.” The company has also licensed games based on properties including “Back to the Future,” “Gremlins,” “Willy Wonka,” “The Wizard of Oz” and “Kong: Skull Island.”

“G2E is all about the games, and this year we’re bringing one of our strongest and most diverse lineups yet,” Light & Wonder CEO Matt Wilson said.

Konami showed off its Solstice SuperNova, an 11-foot-tall machine with a 75-inch curved display, optional 43-inch topper, oversized spin buttons and an expansive digital button panel. Konami says it is displaying more than 50 new game themes across five hardware formats, including an oversized cabinet with a triple-bonus game.

Ainsworth embraced a larger design, debuting its Raptor A865 Portrait cabinet. The machine features a 65-inch J-Curve display, an 18-inch button deck, LED frame lighting, dynamic audio and dual “smash buttons.”

“The Raptor A865 is a major highlight this year, bringing our proven Raptor content to our largest and most immersive cabinet yet,” said Ainsworth CEO Ryan Comstock.

Aristocrat used G2E to debut its new Baron Slant cabinet, which combines 4K displays, game-driven lighting and premium sound. It launches with 11 titles, including Buffalo Dynamite, Jackpot Tales and Bao Bao Riches.

The company also is showcasing its Reign cabinet, which launched in August and is appearing at G2E in single- and double-screen configurations with new games.
