“What the hell are you doing down there?” Kimmel asked. “Are you an urban scavenger?”

“Urban scavenger?” Stewart replied. “How about a hello? How about ‘Nice to see you’?”

Stewart said he was not scavenging things in the sewer, but rather bringing things down “for the rats.”

“What gifts do you bring rats?” Kimmel asked.

“Pelotons,” Stewart said sarcastically. “What do you think I mean—Amazon gift cards? I bring food. They’re rats!”

After a person in a rat suit appeared and Stewart fed him a piece of pizza, Kimmel protested, saying he didn’t believe it was right for Stewart to be giving pizza to the rats.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were the boss of Brooklyn. Let me tell you something. As Jesus said, and by the way, I shouldn’t know this. You should know this. As Jesus said, if you give a rat a pizza, he eats for a day. But if you teach a rat to make his own pizza…” Stewart said, trailing off.
