New York City police are investigating a hammer attack outside a Burger King in Brooklyn that sent two men to the hospital.<\/p>\n

The assault happened in Dyker Heights, near the intersection of 65th Street and 14th Avenue, shortly after 9:00 p.m. Saturday night, investigators said.<\/p>\n

Police said the victims \u2014 both 36 years old \u2014 were struck in the head with a hammer.<\/p>\n

The severity of their injuries was unclear, but both men were taken by private vehicle to Lutheran Medical Center, where they were still recovering Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Some neighbors told NBC New York the attack was concerning, especially if it is determined to have been random.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation is not very good. I have a family and it causes me to think about protection or something like that you know? But I suppose it was only one time and nothing else,\u201d a resident who have the name “Eugene” said.<\/p>\n

Sources told News 4 that police are looking for two men who ran from the scene. No arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
