NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — More than 122,000 cases of Gatorade have been recalled across 37 states after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified the action as a Class II recall involving undeclared food dyes.<\/p>\n
The recall affects 122,021 cases of 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero, Gatorade Orange and Gatorade Orange Zero, according to the FDA. The products were recalled because they contain undeclared Yellow No. 5 and\/or Yellow No. 6.<\/p>\n
The recall was voluntarily initiated by PepsiCo on Sept. 25 and was classified by the FDA on Oct. 2. The action remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
Affected products were distributed in 37 states, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas and California.<\/p>\n
The FDA assigned the recall a Class II designation, meaning use of or exposure to the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or that the probability of serious health consequences is remote.<\/p>\n
