\u201cThe Wolseley has a strong identity rooted in British culture and the bridge between New York and London is integral to our unique identity,\u201d Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, the parent company of the Wolseley Hotels, tells T&C. \u201cAt the same time, our location in the heart of midtown, with its close proximity to the theaters, museums, galleries, and cultural institutions allows us to offer our members a deeper connection to what\u2019s happening around them. Members will see artists from across the city paint walls, perform on the piano, and create one-of-a-kind installations unique to the club.\u201d<\/p>\n
The design of both the hotel and club will take inspiration from the Wolseley\u2019s London location\u2014yes, that famous floor will make an appearance, albeit in what\u2019s described as an \u201cunexpected\u201d way\u2014and favorites from that menu will also cross the pond. \u201cThe Wolseley New York will carry forward the spirit and theatricality that have made the Piccadilly restaurant so beloved,\u201d Rajakarier says, \u201cwhile interpreting it through a distinctly New York point of view.\u201d<\/p>\n

The club will aim to make itself at home among New York\u2019s most important institutions and plans to offer members unique access to cultural events, ranging from private viewings and behind-the-scenes experiences to curator-led tours and conversations with artists. \u201cThe idea is to give members a reason to explore the arts and culture beyond the walls of the club\u2014to experience the creativity of New York as a Wolseley member and then return to the club to continue the conversation over a drink or dinner,\u201d Rajakarier explains. \u201cThe Wolseley becomes both a gateway to the cultural life of the city and the place members come home to afterwards.\u201d<\/p>\n

For visiting members, we aim to be their New York home\u2014served with a twist of British charm.\u201d<\/p>\n
