A 29-year-old man was arrested and hit with multiple hate crime-related charges on Oct. 5 in connection with an alleged anti-LGBTQ assault in the Bronx in late June.<\/a><\/p>\n

Anthony Reyes, of the Bronx, was charged with two counts of assault as a hate crime, two counts of menacing as a hate crime, and an additional assault charge more than three months after he and one other individual allegedly attacked a 43-year-old man at the intersection of Elliot Place and Jerome Avenue in the Bronx.<\/p>\n

Police said Reyes was arrested at around 11:40 a.m. within the same area of the alleged attack.<\/p>\n

The other individual who allegedly carried out the attack with Reyes has not yet been arrested, an NYPD spokesperson told Gay City News on Oct. 5.<\/p>\n

Around 7:30 p.m. on June 25 \u2014 three days before the NYC Pride March \u2014 the two alleged assailants approached the victim, voiced anti-LGBTQIA+ remarks, pushed him, and punched and kicked his body, according to police. They then hit the victim in the head with a \u201cblunt object\u201d and took off on foot, leaving the victim with serious physical injuries, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
