Kathy Hochul has appointed state Attorney General Letitia James to act as special prosecutor in the alleged Cornell gang rape case. But advocates are also pushing the governor to call for a special session of the state legislature, meaning one that would meet before January.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They want to see the so-called voluntary intoxication loophole closed as soon as possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysenate.gov\/legislation\/bills\/2025\/S54\/amendment\/A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Legislation<\/a> sponsored by Assemblymember Jeffrey Dinowitz, as well as state Sen.
