As the temperatures get colder, the FDNY is warning residents about how to safely heat their home.<\/p>\n
Officials say to always plug space heaters directly into the outlet. Never use power strips or extension cords. <\/p>\n
Only plug one appliance into the outlet at a time, and always keep the heaters at least 3 feet from combustibles.<\/p>\n
