Located on Madison Avenue, the\u00a01,400-square-foot space was designed by\u00a0architectural studio Johnson Pinney Architects, as part of the\u00a0London-based brand’s new store design concept, featuring handcrafted European oak joinery throughout, and a\u00a0curved book wall detailed in brushed brass, punctuated by\u00a0a large, feather-esque origami installation suspended from the ceiling, made in collaboration with\u00a0Fung + Bedford.<\/p>\n
Inside, New Yorkers will found the full range of Smythson’s\u00a0signature selection of diaries, notebooks, stationery, business and travel accessories, games and homeware. The Madison Avenue store will also host the only\u00a0bespoke stationery salon outside of London, where customers will be able to book a one-on-one bespoke appointment with a stationery specialist.\u00a0<\/p>\n
To celebrate the store reopening, Smythson has also reimagined its\u00a0signature Panama Notebooks with three store-exclusive notebooks inspired by the Big Apple<\/a>, with the titles \u2018Uptown, Midtown, Downtown\u2019, \u2018I \u2764 New York\u2019 and \u2018Empire State of Mind\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThe opening of our Madison Avenue flagship marks the start of an important chapter in Smythson\u2019s growth in the U.S., a market that is a key part of our international strategy,” said \u00a0Paolo Porta, CEO, Smythson.<\/p>\n “We are proud to have such a loyal customer base in New York and are excited to be bringing our latest collections, as well as unique services such as our bespoke stationery salon and gold-stamping, to the city.\u201d<\/p>\n
