NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2014 New Yorkers of all ages are invited to get into the spirit of the fall season and Halloween for free.<\/p>\n
Throughout October, city recreation centers and parks will transform into family-friendly festive destinations that include haunted houses, pumpkin patches, face-painting, music and much more, Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced Thursday.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\t \u201cIt\u2019s no trick: spooky season is taking over parks and recreation centers across our city this month,\u201d said Mamdani. This is what it looks like to build a city that recognizes play and joy as a public good.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n In addition to the fall festivals and Halloween, the largest Trick-or-Streets<\/a> is ongoing across the city during the month.\u00a0<\/p>\n Here is a list of events happening across the city:\u00a0<\/p>\n Manhattan \u2013 J. Hood Wright Recreation Center and Park\u00a0<\/p>\n Fright Walk<\/a>, Oct. 16, 4 \u2013 7 p.m.<\/p>\n Fall Festival and Fright Walk<\/a>, Oct. 17, 12 \u2013 3 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n Families will be able to explore a haunted house and on that Saturday, a pumpkin patch, bounce houses and other seasonal activities will be available.<\/p>\n Registration is required.<\/p>\n The Bronx \u2013 Williamsbridge Oval Recreation Center\u00a0<\/p>\n Williamsbridge Fall Fiesta: Where Memories Take Flight!<\/a> Oct. 17, 11 a.m. \u2013 2 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n Among the many activities happening at the event, attendees can participate in pumpkin decorating, a pumpkin-weight guessing contest and a dog costume parade.<\/p>\n Registration is not required.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t Staten Island \u2013 Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex\u00a0<\/p>\n Ocean Breeze Fall Festival<\/a>, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. \u2013 3 p.m.<\/p>\n Families will have the opportunity to take part in interactive autumn-themed games, rides and entertainment. The festival includes the Ocean Breeze Youth Cross Country Spooktakular, a competition for young athletes between the ages of seven and 17.<\/p>\n Registration is not required.\u00a0<\/p>\n Brooklyn \u2013 Shirley Chisholm Recreation Center\u00a0<\/p>\n Haunted House and Hallow Gala<\/a>, Oct. 30, 3 \u2013 7 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n In addition to a haunted house, a spooky carnival, pumpkin decorating and costume contests, families can take part in some karaoke fun and a silent disco.<\/p>\n Registration is not required.\u00a0<\/p>\n Queens \u2013 Bowne Park Field House\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Mad Monster Lab Haunted House and Fall Festival<\/a>, Oct. 30, 4 \u2013 8 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Families can enjoy a pumpkin patch, seasonal arts and crafts, inflatables, and other activities.
