The Minnesota Vikings<\/a> have signed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr<\/a>. to their practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The move comes a week after Beckham was released by the New York Giants<\/a> after he failed to make a significant impact in his reunion with the team.<\/p>\n

He was one of two wide receivers signed by the Vikings to the practice squad along with Jeshaun Jones<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Beckham and coach Kevin O’Connell won Super Bowl LVI together when both were with the Los Angeles Rams<\/a>, and Beckham also played for Vikings assistant head coach Frank Smith when both were with the Miami Dolphins<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n

The Vikings have started 4-0 despite an offense that has ranked among the NFL’s worst. Star receiver Justin Jefferson<\/a> suffered a sprained left ankle in Week 3, missed Week 4 and is questionable at best for Week 5. The Vikings had previously signed veteran Jauan Jennings<\/a> to be their No. 3 receiver behind Jefferson and Jordan Addison<\/a>, but Jennings missed one game for personal reasons and has caught only two passes for nine yards on four targets in the other three.<\/p>\n

Beckham, 33, played 19 snaps in three games with the Giants and did not record a single catch. Before returning this season, he had played his first five seasons with the franchise after being selected with the No. 12 pick in 2014.<\/p>\n

Beckham was hoping to resuscitate his career after not playing in the NFL since the 2024 season, when he caught just nine passes for 54 yards with the Dolphins.<\/p>\n

Beckham has also played for theBaltimore Ravens<\/a>. He has 575 catches for 7,987 yards with 59 touchdowns in his career.<\/p>\n
