His vehicle’s left rear wheel struck the left curb line dividing the highway, causing Dickson to lose control. The vehicle went into a spin and skidded off the roadway into a grassy area and then overturned and struck down a light pole. Arregui, who was a passenger in the middle rear seat of Dickson’s car, was ejected.

EMS responded to the scene of the crash and rushed Arregui to Elmhurst Hospital with severe head and body trauma, where she was pronounced dead.

Dickson remained at the scene of the crash and told a cop from the 114th Precinct that he was the driver of the wrecked 2022 Honda Accord. A police officer assigned to the Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad Tech Group arrived at the scene just after 5 a.m. and observed Dickson to be in an impaired condition in that he had slurred speech, bloodshot and watery eyes, and displayed other signs of inebriation. The officer said that Dickson was administered a Drager drug test at the scene that tested positive for THC, according to the criminal complaint. When a police officer from Highway Unit 3 requested a urine test from Dickson, the defendant stated, “I mean I’m going to have weed in my system. I smoke weed,” according to the complaint.

Dickson was arraigned before Queens Criminal Court Judge Thomas G. Wright who set bail at $30,000 cash and $100.000 bond.

A Brooklyn driver was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence after he lost control of…

[36
40918,135847,135848,98,100,99,65287,33730,8939,9,24,63,28955
post-367191","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-brooklyn","tag-114th-precinct","tag-anthony-dickson","tag-arianna-arregui","tag-brooklyn","tag-brooklyn-headlines","tag-brooklyn-news","tag-driving-under-the-influence","tag-fatal-collision","tag-fatal-crash","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-nypd-highway-districts-collision-investigation-squad
["GET
