If you only read the first 49 words of Mayor Mamdani\u2019s statement marking<\/a> the three-year anniversary of Hamas\u2019 Oct. 7 attacks, you might\u2019ve thought you were witnessing another New York miracle \u2014 like the Knicks winning it all after 53 years without a title, or Captain Sully landing that plane on the Hudson.<\/p>\n

Here, after all, was the mayor, plainly stating the facts<\/a>: 1,100 Israelis killed and 251 abducted in an attack that can only be called a horrific war crime.<\/p>\n

But the artist formerly known as Mr. Cardamom, it soon turned out, hasn\u2019t really changed his tune since he rapped lovingly about the Holy Land Five, Muslim community leaders indicted for funneling millions to Hamas.<\/p>\n

The bit about dead Israelis, it turned out, was only throat-clearing.<\/p>\n

The main act was precisely what you\u2019d expect from Mamdani: bluster and bigotry, a perfect crescendo of performative Third Worldism.<\/p>\n

Genocide! Apartheid! Starvation! Journalists targeted for telling the truth!<\/p>\n

The mayor\u2019s statement reads like a greatest-hits compilation of all the depraved lies we\u2019ve been hearing for the past three years from those whose main passion is cheering for Jew killers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fist bump to base<\/p>\n

How to respond to such an intellectually feeble, morally repugnant and utterly pernicious statement?<\/p>\n

A normal person\u2019s first instinct is to counter Mamdani\u2019s fabrications with facts \u2014 reminding him, say, that an overwhelming majority of so-called journalists killed by the Israel Defense Forces turned out to be terror operatives.<\/p>\n

Or explaining, yet again, that \u201cgenocide\u201d is a preposterous term to use considering that Gaza\u2019s population grew by 2% in 2024 alone, and that its elected leaders could\u2019ve ended the war at any time simply by returning the hostages they brutally kidnapped from their homes.<\/p>\n

But Mamdani doesn\u2019t care about the facts.<\/p>\n

His statement wasn\u2019t an ill-conceived blunder: It was a deliberate fist bump to his base, reassuring the terror aficionados marching up and down our streets<\/a> and waving Hamas and Hezbollah flags that he\u2019s still committed to their cause \u2014 the cause of Jew and America hatred.<\/p>\n

It leaves not only New York\u2019s Jews but all New Yorkers in an unimaginably tough spot.<\/p>\n

What to do when the man entrusted with your safety and well-being is gleefully siding with the ghouls committed to slaughtering you no matter the cost?<\/p>\n

Protests, sharply worded statements, political pressure and all the other tools of civic engagement don\u2019t seem to work.<\/p>\n

The mayor doubles down on his dedication to demonizing the Jews not only in word but also in deed: This week, we learned that his so-called strategy to combat antisemitism<\/a> includes handing a cool $6 million to a group partnered with none other than Linda Sarsour, who had to resign her leadership of the Women\u2019s March after blatantly discriminating against its Jewish members.<\/p>\n

And with his recent screed, Mamdani gave us the clearest indication yet since assuming office that he remains staunchly on the side of America\u2019s sworn enemies, standing with the genocidal jihadis rather than with the West trying to curb their murderous violence.<\/p>\n

Message is clear<\/p>\n

Mamdani\u2019s made his statement.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s now time for the rest of us to make ours.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s make sure the mayor pays a price for his prejudice.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s explore every legal avenue available to hold him accountable for spreading hate and lies.<\/p>\n

And, most important, let\u2019s build a coalition that gives him and his fellow radicals the boot in 2029.<\/p>\n

Shame on Mamdani, for once again showing himself to be a rank little bigot.<\/p>\n

But shame on us, too, if we don\u2019t do what New Yorkers do best \u2014 and give this petty hater an unvarnished and impolite piece of our mind.<\/p>\n
