Law enforcement sources said that 31-year-old Angel Carrasco, who had been wanted since Tuesday, was cuffed by the Regional Fugitive Task Force and was held at the 49th Precinct overnight.

Carrasco had been previously arrested for allegedly beating the victim — 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez, the woman he would later allegedly send plummeting to her death. Back on Jan. 5, police say Carrasco slapped Ramirez, leaving her bruised and in pain, the latest, at the time, in a series of domestic violence incidents. In that case, he was charged with assault.

Sources say the couple has been estranged after the assault incidents.

This comes as police sources report that Ramirez’s eight-month-old baby had stabilized. The tot had originally been rushed to Jacobi Hospital by cops with head and body trauma before she was airlifted to Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center on the Queens/Nassau border.

Ramirez is believed to have cushioned the child’s fall when she was sent hurtling from the balcony of the Allerville Arms apartment building. She was also rushed to Jacobi Hospital, but did not survive.

Neighbors heard fighting at around 3 a.m. that morning.

“I live right next door, next door. I heard a man yelling around 3 a.m., a very strong voice yelling ‘shut up, shut up, shut up,’” said Stan Garlik, a next-door neighbor on the 15th floor.

Workers at the nearby grocery store, Bagels and More, said they knew Ramirez well. They described her as a “nice girl” who would visit the store to order a sandwich at almost the same time almost every day. They would often see her with a baby in tow.

“She used to come all the time here. She’s a great person. She doesn’t bother nobody,” said one worker, who wished to remain anonymous. “We already knew what she would order. At 12:45 p.m., she would say, ‘I need my sandwich.’ It was a chicken cutlet with lots of tomatoes.”

Carrasco faces charges of murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, attempted manslaughter, and assault.
