The reunion continues! The upcoming 10th anniversary reunion concert of Broadway’s 2016 revival of\u00a0Falsettos<\/a> has added a third date at Carnegie Hall due to ticket demand. Originally announced as a one-night-only event October 18, the concert previously added a November 2 performance after the original sold out almost instantly. The full company will now also return to the venue February 8, 2027.<\/p>\n

And that’s not all. The cast will then cross the pond to London for a trio of performances at The London Palladium February 23-24, 2027.<\/p>\n

The news comes as BroadwayHD<\/a> also prepares to give the live stage film of the production a streaming return. The film, which originally premiered on PBS in 2017, will be available on the streamer from October 15.<\/p>\n

The concerts will reunite the full cast of the beloved revival of the William Finn<\/a>\u2013James Lapine<\/a> musical. The cast includes Tony winners Stephanie J. Block<\/a>, Christian Borle<\/a>, and Brandon Uranowitz<\/a>; Tracie Thoms<\/a>; Betsy Wolfe<\/a>; and Andrew Rannells<\/a>. The evenings will also feature a special guest appearance from Anthony Rosenthal<\/a>, who played the pre-teen character Jason in that 2016 production.<\/p>\n

The production will be directed by Tony-nominated choreographer Ellenore Scott<\/a> (Ragtime<\/a>)\u2014who served as assistant choreographer on the 2016 Falsettos. Additionally, Cory Pattak<\/a> will be the event’s lighting designer. As previously announced, Vadim Feichtner<\/a> will again music direct and conduct, leading a band made up of most of the production’s original players.<\/p>\n

Betsy Wolfe and Colleen Cook<\/a> and Cynthia Rose<\/a> of Table for Three Productions are presenting the concerts both in New York and London, in association with Darren Bell Productions, and, for the London performances, QUBE Theatricals.\u00a0A portion of the proceeds from NYC’s February performance will benefit The TDF Wendy Wasserstein Project.<\/p>\n

\u201cFalsettos found all of us at such a pivotal moment, and we\u2019ve had the extraordinary privilege of watching one another grow, as artists and as friends in the decade since,\u201d says Wolfe in a statement. \u201cI always believed there was more life in this piece and hoped we might one day return to it together, but to see one night at Carnegie Hall so quickly grow into three performances and take us to the London Palladium has been extraordinary. That this company trusted me to bring us back together onstage means more than I can say. Ten years later, it turns out there\u2019s still more of this story for us to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n

The revival, which opened in 2016 at the Walter Kerr Theatre via Lincoln Center Theater<\/a>, was the second time Falsettos played Broadway, following its 1992 original production. Originally produced Off-Broadway as two separate one-act musicals, the work follows the unconventional family that arises after Marvin tells his wife, Trina, that he’s gay. Featuring songs by the late Finn and a book by Lapine (who also directed both of the show’s Broadway bows), the musical was a landmark moment in theatre history, created at the height of the AIDS crisis and becoming one of the first major mainstream depictions of queer life and family units. The 2016 revival was filmed live on stage and later shown on PBS, and was nominated for five 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.<\/p>\n

A ticket pre-sale for all concerts will begin October 14 at 11 AM ET with registration at FalsettosReunion.com<\/a>.
