The New York\u00a0production of the Tony Award-winning revival of Chicago<\/a> will celebrate 30 years on Broadway with a special performance November 16 at 7 PM at the Ambassador Theatre.<\/p>\n

The gala performance, benefiting the\u00a0Entertainment Community Fund’s dance programs, will welcome original company members Bebe Neuwirth<\/a> and\u00a0James Naughton<\/a>. The performance will also feature appearances from former and current Chicago stars\u00a0Robyn Hurder<\/a>, Whitney Leavitt<\/a>, Ariana Madix<\/a>, Alex Newell<\/a>, and\u00a0Reece Weaver<\/a>. Additional celebrity guests will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n

Chicago\u00a0is the longest-running show currently\u00a0on Broadway and the longest-running American musical in history.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Entertainment Community Fund<\/a>, formerly The Actors Fund, is a national human services organization that addresses the unique needs of people who work in performing arts and entertainment with services focused on health and wellness, career and life, and housing. Since 1882, the Fund has sought to ensure stability, encourage resiliency and be a safety net for those who shape our country\u2019s cultural vibrancy.<\/p>\n

The current cast of\u00a0Chicago features Weaver as Roxie Hart, Lissa deGuzman as Velma Kelly, Max von Essen<\/a> as Billy Flynn, Natasha Yvette Williams as Matron \u201cMama\u201d Morton, Red Concepcion as Amos Hart, and J. Workman<\/a> as Mary Sunshine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ensemble\u00a0includes Tia Altinay<\/a>, Ronnie S. Bowman Jr., Austin Dunn<\/a>, John Michael Fiumara<\/a>, Danielle Marie Gonzalez<\/a>, Chelsea James<\/a>, Christopher Kelley<\/a>, James T. Lane<\/a>, Jenny Laroche<\/a>, Marty Lawson<\/a>, Joseph London, Kristen Faith Oei<\/a>, Denny Paschall<\/a>, Mariah Reives<\/a>, Sean Samuels<\/a>, Samantha Sturm<\/a>, Jeff Sullivan<\/a>,\u00a0and Elizabeth Yanick<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The revival of Chicago began life as one of the three annual Encores!
\n presentations offered by City Center<\/a>. The musical opened on Broadway at
\n the Richard Rodgers Theatre November 14, 1996, where it remained
\nthrough February 1997. The musical transferred to the Shubert Theatre,
\nand played that house through January 26, 2003. The revival reopened at
\nthe Ambassador Theatre January 29 that year.<\/p>\n

Since its debut in 1996, Chicago has played in 36 countries
\nand been seen by 33 million people worldwide. It is now the
\nsecond-longest running show in Broadway history (after the now closed The Phantom of the Opera).<\/p>\n

With a book by the late Fred Ebb<\/a> and Bob Fosse<\/a>, music by John Kander<\/a>, and lyrics by Ebb, Chicago
\n features direction by Walter Bobbie<\/a>, choreography by the late Ann
\nReinking, set design by John Lee Beatty<\/a>, costume design by William Ivey
\nLong, lighting design by Ken Billington<\/a>, sound design by Scott Lehrer<\/a>,
\nand casting by ARC.<\/p>\n

The current production, produced by Barry and Fran Weissler<\/a>, won the
\nTony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for
\nactors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Bobbie, lighting
\ndesigner Billington, and Reinking. The original production was directed
