EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/?attachment_id=625168\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-625168 nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-625168\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Screenshot-2026-10-07-at-10.13.36-AM.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"971\"  \/><\/a>Police from the 103rd Precinct responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress inside the park along Hillside Avenue near 175th Street. Photo via Google Maps<\/p>\n<p>Police canvassed the area around the park with one of the witnesses, who recognized Abdullah, who was walking several blocks away, according to a law enforcement source. He was initially taken into custody as a person of interest and formally arrested and charged nearly eight hours later after several witnesses said they saw Abdullah arguing with the victim before stabbing him two times in the chest and fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/?attachment_id=625167\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-625167 nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-625167\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/unnamed-2026-10-08T123011.894.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"408\" height=\"544\"\/><\/a>Abdullah Spencerel was arrested after police canvassed the area with an eyewitness, who recognized him walking several blocks away from Major Mark Park. QNS file photo<\/p>\n<p>An NYPD spokesman could not say what the argument was about. The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
