The NYPD said they were not on the scene at the time of the shooting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">Witness video appeared to show several agents in the middle of the street in the aftermath, with one armed and another restraining a man on the ground, the New York Times reported. The City Reporter, a local news outlet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecityreporter.nyc\/2026\/10\/08\/federal-officers-shoot-man-in-the-bronx-nypd-says\/\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> video showed chaos after the shooting, with a crowd gathered and NYPD officers appearing to carry a man into the back of a vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-1s160rg\">Kathy Hochul, New York\u2019s Democratic governor, said in a short statement that she had been briefed on the shooting, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/govkathyhochul\/status\/2108318621109821529?s=46&amp;t=__NXyoH3pWY0b_6bnjxcig\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow\">writing<\/a>: \u201cWe expect federal authorities to provide a full and transparent accounting of the circumstances surrounding this incident.
