Kennedy International Airport<\/a> when the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/flight-turbulence\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">severe turbulence<\/a> was reported.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/miami-dade-fire-rescue\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Miami-Dade Fire Rescue<\/a>\u00a0said the flight landed safely at MIA around 3:30 a.m. According to MDFR, eight people were injured, with one of those needing to be brought to a trauma center.<\/p>\n<p>However, airline officials told CBS News Miami that nine people \u2013 three crew members and six passengers \u2013 were hurt.<\/p>\n<p>One passenger who was at Miami International Airport when the Avianca flight was arriving said she saw several ambulances waiting to help treat those who were injured.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When we arrived, when we landed, we saw that very close to where we were going to disembark, there were more than five or six ambulances.
