{"id":369804,"date":"2026-10-10T15:14:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T15:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/369804\/"},"modified":"2026-10-10T15:14:09","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T15:14:09","slug":"nypd-cop-fires-off-round-as-they-grab-man-who-slashed-two-in-queens-apartment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/369804\/","title":{"rendered":"NYPD cop fires off round as they grab man who slashed two in Queens apartment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An NYPD officer fired off a round as several cops scrambled to subdue a man accused of slashing two people inside a Far Rockaway apartment building, police said Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>No one was hit by the discharge, NYPD officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The 52-year-old suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/4-10+Beach+54th+St,+Far+Rockaway,+NY+11691\/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x89c2688e328d8b71:0xacd9cf30762f791a?sa=X&amp;ved=1t:242&amp;ictx=111\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Beach 54th St. near Beach Channel Drive<\/a> in Edgemere when cops were called about 11:50 p.m. Friday, refusing to release a 57-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man he had attacked.<\/p>\n<p>The woman suffered slash wounds to the hands and feet, and the man sustained slash wounds to his head and arms, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>During the standoff, NYPD Emergency Service Unit officers repeatedly tried to get the suspect to surrender.
