While Golston and the Giants sought a second opinion during the week, the fear had been that Golston\u2019s neck injury would be a \u201clong term\u201d injury. He\u2019s emerged as a key contributor along the Giants\u2019 defensive line, playing on both base downs and as a part of the Giants\u2019 pass rush packages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">The Giants signed defensive lineman Jihad Ward off the Minnesota Vikings practice squad last week, and placing Golston on the injured reserve will likely lead to his debut for the Giants. This is Ward\u2019s second stint with the Giants, and he is familiar with Dennard Wilson after spending the 2025 season on the Tennessee Titans\u2019 defense. Ward had a career year under Wilson with 31 total tackles, 4 for a loss, 5.0 sacks, 22 quarterback hits, and 4 passes defensed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">The Giants are also elevating receiver\/returner Dalen Cambre as well as OLB Trace Ford.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Cambre is a fan favorite for his work over the last two preseasons, as well as a needed piece given the Giants\u2019 shallow receiver depth chart and emphasis on special teams.
