The city\u2019s only swim-bike-run event returned on Saturday October 10, 2026. Now called the Big Apple Triathlon<\/a> saw 1,300 endurance enthusiasts take on the challenging course through the Hudson River (1500m swim), along the West Side Highway (24.8 mile bike) and into Central Park (6.2 mile run).<\/p>\n

The race, formerly known as the New York City Triathlon, has been around since 2001. But its recent history is notoriously choppy, soured by scheduling snafus and weather woes.<\/a><\/p>\n
