{"id":370414,"date":"2026-10-11T16:00:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-11T16:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/370414\/"},"modified":"2026-10-11T16:00:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T16:00:10","slug":"nyc-weather-forecast-calls-for-sunday-rain-showers-little-flood-risk-nbc-new-york","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/370414\/","title":{"rendered":"NYC weather forecast calls for Sunday rain showers, little flood risk \u2013 NBC New York"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a weekend in the tri-state, so naturally we are being treated to another round of rain. <\/p>\n<p>This weekend&#8217;s rainfall can be blamed on the remnants of Hurricane Isaias \u2014 the first hurricane of the Atlantic season \u2014 and slammed the Gulf Coast, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnewyork.com\/news\/national-international\/hurricane-isaias-forecast-gulf-coast-florida-alabama-louisiana-national-guard-preparations\/6557605\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">resulting in at least two deaths<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The first impacts of that storm hit the tri-state area early Sunday morning, breaking the spell of an otherwise gorgeous start to the weekend. Saturday brought us temps in the upper 60s. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/10102026-Weekend-Rain-Timeline.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tST4ST4<\/p>\n<p>Conditions went downhill rather quick on Sunday. The rain started early and wasn&#8217;t expected to give up until the next morning. Anyone in our area should expect rainfall to osculate between light and heavy showers throughout the day. <\/p>\n<p>Most in our region should expect to see an inch or two by the time this storm clears out. A few of us might even see up to 3 inches. <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/DMA-Rain-Accumulation-Model-2-5.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tST4ST4<\/p>\n<p>The flood threat remains low because the rain is spread out over a long period of time. Rain should taper off overnight with a few lingering showers possible early Monday morning. <\/p>\n<p>Any continuing showers Monday morning should have a minimal impact on anyone commuting for the holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Once the skies clear, Monday afternoon brings about sunshine and temperatures in the low 70s.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s a weekend in the tri-state, so naturally we are being treated to another round of rain.
