That\u2019s the narrative Art of Play is gonna go with,\u201d the singer, 44, began via X<\/a> on Sunday, October 11, after New York City\u2019s Art of Play boutique responded<\/a> to the singer\u2019s weekend claims via Instagram. \u201cSo the whole conversation we had when I asked you if it was for sale, whilst pointing to the price tag hanging on the wall with the title \u201cSinging Bird,\u201d didn\u2019t happen as you elevator eyed me, saying in a condescending tone, \u2018Yes, it\u2019s for sale but it costs $15,000 so if you\u2019d like me to find something comparable for you I can.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Clarkson, whose original Instagram recollection<\/a> of the encounter included her comparing the alleged incident to Julia Roberts\u2019 Pretty Woman iconic character Vivian\u2019s notorious \u201cBig mistake\u201d scene in the 1990 film, continued sarcastically, \u201cThat all never happened and now it\u2019s not for sale. OK, cool. So you\u2019re not only rude, you\u2019re also a liar. Got it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The X post included a screenshot of a price listing, seemingly originally sourced by a social media user, of $15,000 for a \u201cSinging Bird.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Brooklyn, New York, boutique caught in Kelly Clarkson\u2019s crossfire is subtly doubling down against her mistreatment accusations. \u201cFor what it\u2019s worth, I think @artofplay is a great store,\u201d another customer wrote via Instagram Stories, which the home goods shop reposted to its own page on Sunday, October 11. Clarkson, 44, claimed several hours earlier [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

The \u201cSince U Been Gone\u201d hitmaker then discussed how she\u2019s an advocate for small businesses in general, despite the recent dispute.<\/p>\n

\u201cI obviously support small businesses because I was literally at a small business trying to purchase things,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI love small businesses and know they are important and I always support them, but you don\u2019t get a free pass to treat people less than in your store just because you are a small business. It\u2019s not that hard to be kind. I never blast people but you, my friend, were an exception.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clarkson concluded, \u201cYour store is really cool. Unfortunately, you aren\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former talk show host sparked headlines on Saturday, October 10, after revealing she had visited the store in the hope of purchasing some of its home goods.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad,\u201d she originally wrote via X. \u201c[I] had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn\u2019t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me. Wow, dude. You\u2019re an idiot and just lost a huge sale.\u201d<\/p>\n
