Speaking during the upcoming BBC documentary, The Book That Changed My Life<\/a>, Camilla, 79, shared that she and Charles, 77, love to sit down with a book before eating in the evening.<\/p>\n \u201cMy husband and I actually read before dinner. We just like sitting quietly and reading,\u201d the Queen said in the documentary, which airs on Wednesday, Oct. 14.<\/p>\n She added, \u201cI occasionally, when I\u2019m deep in a book, hear him roaring with laughter about something. It\u2019s very off-putting, I can\u2019t get back into my book, or I\u2019ll suddenly start weeping, but it\u2019s a lovely, quiet time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think it would be a complete and utter tragedy if books went forever,\u201d Camilla shared.<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cIt\u2019s part of our heritage, if there\u2019s no reading, personally [I think] we might as well all give up. Because I don\u2019t think we\u2019d even be human any longer.\u201d<\/p>\n Camilla has spoken openly about her love of books through the years. Lawrence\u2019s once-controversial book, Lady Chatterley\u2019s Lover<\/a>, as a teenager in the 1960s.<\/p>\n \u201cAs teenagers you read a lot of romances. It was the moment of Lady Chatterley, under our pillows, reading that by torchlight. You know the minute something is forbidden, you want to get hold of it,\u201d Camilla shared, per the BBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n She also described reading as \u201clike the best tonic in the world,\u201d according to the outlet.<\/p>\n Queen CamillaCredit: Stefan Rousseau \/ POOL \/ AFP via Getty<\/p>\n Camilla explained that when she was younger, reading was very important, as she and many others would leave school at quite a young age.<\/p>\n \u201cI left school quite young.
