NEW YORK (WABC) — Eyewitness News’ own Bill Ritter has been reporting on advancements being made against Alzheimer’s<\/a> as he takes on his own battle against the disease.<\/p>\n

Join us Thursday on Eyewitness News at 5:30 p.m. for a 30-minute special where Bill will look at the latest research into the disease and we will talk to the families who are helping their loved ones.<\/p>\n

After Bill announced his diagnosis in June, he has committed to continuing to tell stories about the disease and its impact.<\/p>\n

He has visited research labs, sat down with patients and their families and he has even participated in special programs.<\/p>\n

And since then, there have been breakthroughs in early detection and advancement in drug treatments. And other high-profile Americans have announced their diagnoses and helped shine a spotlight on the disease.<\/p>\n

Watch our 30-minute special, Living with Alzheimer’s, on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. wherever you stream Eyewitness News and ABC 7.<\/p>\n

Bill and ABC 7 have joined CaringKind to bring brain health into everyday conversations through stories, community events, educational resources, and public awareness initiatives.<\/p>\n

The campaign’s watershed moment will happen on Saturday, Oct. 17, at CaringKind’s 38th annual Alzheimer’s Walk & Brain Health Day in Central Park, where thousands of participants will come together to walk, learn, and take meaningful steps toward a healthier future for all.<\/p>\n
