Brooklyn curiosity shop Art of Play insisted they offer \u201csomething for everyone\u201d despite Kelly Clarkson calling them out for a \u201cPretty Woman\u201d moment<\/a> over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Days into their social media feud with the \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d alum, the store posted a pointed roundup of items for sale via Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe median price of an item in our shop is $35,\u201d Monday\u2019s caption read. \u201cBut we pride ourselves on working directly with talented artisans to curate a collection of rare curiosities hard to find anywhere else in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The curiosity shop insisted via Instagram that they offer \u201csomething for everyone\u201d after the singer\u2019s \u201cPretty Woman\u201d moment. artofplay\/Instagram<\/p>\n

The carousel featured a $7,500 puzzle box, a $2,5000 hummingbird flipbook machine and an $895 spinning top, among other products.<\/p>\n

Earlier that day, the store shared hopes of laughing about the \u201cmisunderstanding\u201d<\/a> with Clarkson one day.<\/p>\n

The drama began<\/a> on Saturday when the Grammy winner, 44, put an \u201cidiot\u201d employee on blast via X.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn\u2019t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me,\u201d the \u201cVoice\u201d coach wrote.<\/p>\n

She urged fans to visit the Brooklyn Heights establishment if they \u201cenjoy being treated like Julia Roberts\u2019 character in \u2018Pretty Woman.’\u201d<\/p>\n

In the 1990 movie, Vivian Ward, notably, is told while shopping that she is in the \u201cwrong place\u201d after the associate assumes the clothes are too expensive for her.<\/p>\n

Art of Play clapped back<\/a> at Clarkson\u2019s allegations via Instagram, claiming she had requested \u201c\u2018Molly,\u2019 a one-of-a-kind singing and dancing bird automaton\u201d that is \u201cpermanently attached to the wall\u201d and not for sale.<\/p>\n

The statement, released Sunday, noted everyone is \u201cequally welcome\u201d in the shop and concluded, \u201cWe\u2019re going to keep our heads down and hopefully we can clear things up with Kelly someday. As a talented popular singer once said \u2018what doesn\u2019t kill you makes you stronger.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The store clapped back, insisting Clarkson had attempted to purchase an item that wasn\u2019t for sale. Instagram\/artofplay<\/p>\n

Clarkson, in turn, fired back, \u201cCool, cool. Sure, it wasn\u2019t for sale. That\u2019s the narrative Art of Play is gonna go with. \u2026 So you\u2019re not only rude, you\u2019re also a liar. Got it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The store doubled down Monday to \u201cclarify some additional details\u201d about the singer\u2019s \u201cfive-minute visit\u201d with an individual she claimed was \u201ccondescending.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe offered to show her a different singing bird automaton, made by a traditional clockmaking shop in Germany, that she could have taken home with her that day,\u201d the statement read. \u201cIt costs about $2,000. She did not stick around long enough to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The scandal was discussed on \u201cThe View\u201d later that day, with Sara Haines pointing out Clarkson did not seem to be \u201clooking for a solution\u201d by going \u201cnuclear.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Ana Navarro pointed out, \u201cWhen you have a platform of millions of followers \u2026 you have to be careful because it\u2019s an uneven wielding of power and you\u2019re hurting working people.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source close to Clarkson, meanwhile, told Page Six the \u201cusually chill\u201d songwriter must have been \u201clivid\u201d<\/a> to make the drama public.<\/p>\n

\u201cKelly is seriously one of the most down-to-earth people you could ever meet,\u201d the insider shared. \u201cShe\u2019s not someone who goes around making a big deal out of nothing. She\u2019s just a really good, normal person who happens to be incredibly famous.\u201d<\/p>\n
