{"id":372370,"date":"2026-10-13T22:14:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-13T22:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/372370\/"},"modified":"2026-10-13T22:14:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-13T22:14:08","slug":"manhattan-neurologist-charged-with-sexually-abusing-2-patients-da-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/372370\/","title":{"rendered":"Manhattan neurologist charged with sexually abusing 2 patients, DA says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-block-key=\"ge9dn\">A Manhattan neurologist was charged with sexually abusing two of his patients, the Manhattan district attorney&#8217;s office announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"6b9kj\">The district attorney&#8217;s office identified the accused as 51-year-old Tariq Lamki, who works at 14th Street Medical Arts near Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"4selb\">Lamki allegedly sexually abused the two patients over their clothing under the guise of giving them massages while they lay on an examination table in a closed-door room, according to court documents.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"72ifa\">The incidents allegedly took place on Aug. 25 and Sept. 2.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"6u4kv\">Lamki faces two counts each of first-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and third-degree sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"2cgj1\">&#8220;A doctor\u2019s appointment should never end in sexual abuse,\u201d DA Alvin Bragg said in a statement Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"ags9q\">Attorney information for Lamki was not immediately available to Gothamist.
