A Manhattan neurologist has been indicted on charges of allegedly sexually abusing two patients during medical appointments this summer, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said on Tuesday.

Tariq Lamki, MD, 51, faces two counts each of first-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and third-degree sexual abuse in connection with the alleged incidents, according to the indictment filed in the New York State Supreme Court.

“A doctor’s appointment should never end in sexual abuse,” Bragg said.

Lamki is a doctor at 14th Street Medical Arts, an independent, multispecialty medical practice near Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village.

Prosecutors allege that Lamki sexually abused the first patient on Aug. 25, and a second patient on Sept. 2. In both cases, he allegedly touched the patients over their clothing under the guise of giving them massages while they were lying on an examination table in a closed-door exam room.

amNewYork contacted the medical office where Lamki works, but a staff member said the office did not have a statement to provide.

The DA’s office said the investigation is ongoing.

“I urge anyone who has been assaulted by a doctor to call our Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Bureau at 212-335-4308,” Bragg said.

Assistant DA Davis Rosser is prosecuting the case. Bragg also thanked Detective Steven Clarke of the NYPD’s Manhattan Special Victims Squad for his work on the investigation.

A Manhattan neurologist has been indicted on charges of allegedly sexually abusing two patients during medical appointments this…

[35
137143,3015,2710,75,84,83,9,24,63,646,137144
post-372446","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-manhattan","tag-14th-street-medical-arts","tag-alvin-bragg","tag-law","tag-manhattan","tag-manhattan-headlines","tag-manhattan-news","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-police-and-fire","tag-tariq-lamki
["GET
