{"id":372530,"date":"2026-10-14T01:17:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T01:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/372530\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T01:17:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T01:17:00","slug":"man-arrested-for-hit-and-run-crash-in-brooklyn-that-killed-lyft-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/372530\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested for hit-and-run crash in Brooklyn that killed Lyft driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 22-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/10\/05\/hit-run-driver-abandons-car-flees-with-his-license-plates-after-fatal-brooklyn-crash\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">removing the license plate from his wrecked car and running off<\/a> following a wild crash in Brooklyn that left a Lyft driver dead and a woman seriously injured, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>Sobirjon Abdurazakov was charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, assault, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and reckless endangerment, in addition to a speeding violation for the deadly crash that killed 62-year-old Yaya Dia on Oct. 5, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Abdurazakov was speeding south on Ocean Parkway in a 2026 Audi A5 when he rear-ended the 2023 Toyota Camry driven by Dia near Avenue S in Midwood around 12:10 a.m., cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The impact caused the Camry to spin around, slamming into the back of a southbound 2021 Toyota RAV4. The hit-and-run driver\u2019s vehicle and the Camry both jumped the curb and crashed into a tree.<\/p>\n<p>Medics rushed Dia to <a href=\"https:\/\/maimo.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Maimonides Medical Center<\/a>, where he died.<\/p>\n<p>His rear-seat passenger, a 39-year-old woman, suffered severe neck and back injuries. She was taken to the same hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old man driving the RAV4 was treated at the scene for minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The Audi driver ran off with his car\u2019s license plates, leaving the wrecked luxury car behind.<\/p>\n<p>Abdurazakov has no criminal record prior to his arrest Tuesday.
