For the past couple of months, the Editorial Board and a veritable horde of guest columnists have been fixated on the mayor and his stance on Israel. I think all your readers get the message of where you guys stand on this issue. I got it about 30 articles ago.

While you’re doing this, you’re all but ignoring the fact that the worst group of thugs in the history of this country are destroying democracy every single day, and there’s an incredibly important election looming. You have a problem with the mayor’s words. Words can inflict damage, but actions can do infinitely worse. For God’s sake, we nearly had an ICE agent kill a child in the city and you’re still talking about a speech. Crimes against this nation in its capital are happening literally every minute, and you need to focus your attention on it.

You are lost in your obsession. I beg you to get back to the real concerns of this country and most of your readership. It’s not one mayor’s words in New York, it’s the actual actions of outright criminals in Washington. Your editorial pages need a wake-up call. I hope this serves as one.

Allan Canino

Aptly named

Mineola, L.I.: ICE is obviously a very cold federal agency!

Philip Martone

Undeserving of defense

Smithtown, L.I.: Voicers Carol Hillson and Laurie Aron and many white, liberal protesters are outraged because an ICE agent shot a fleeing criminal on a crowded street in daylight. They act like they’re noble heroes protecting the poor illegal criminal from “the man.” Where are their protests when non-ICE agents commit crimes that endanger others? I guess that doesn’t upset them because the shooters are almost always minorities, and liberals think that minorities are inferior and can’t control themselves anyway.

Andrew Ross

Strategic sympathy?

Astoria: When a bona fide menace to society named Oscar Belgal tries to flee from ICE agents while his 5-year-old son sits in the back seat of the car and is labeled a “good dad” by congressional candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier, I have to wonder: What is the meaning of a trusted public official? Belgal, who terrorized his neighbors, was also classified as a “New Yorker” by Mayor Mamdani. After Belgal was shot by an ICE agent during his aborted escape, Attorney General Letitia James offered her prayers to him and his family. With all this support for the bad guy, do these trusted public officials actually rely on the menaces of society to support them at the polls come election time?

Aris Sakellaridis

Voter intimidation

Sauquoit, N.Y.: It’s a federal crime for non-citizens to register and vote in federal elections, punishable by prison time and deportation. Yet, we’re told by this administration that non-citizen voting is rampant and must be eradicated. This is completely false. After examining its data, the conservative Heritage Foundation found no crisis of non-citizen voting. This administration has waged a war against mail-in voting, demanded states’ voter rolls, threatened election workers and threatened to seize voting machines. They’re planning to send 1,000 poll monitors and haven’t ruled out sending ICE agents and/or armed guards to polling places, which is unlawful. During the primaries, ICE agents confronted a poll worker in Syracuse. With the terror ICE agents have inflicted on our immigrant community, these people are petrified to go to the store, attend church or send their children to school, much less attempt to vote.

Karen Strange

Complicit courts

Brooklyn: A little-noticed decision by the Alabama Supreme Court could show how President Trump might try to get a third term. The court ruled that it could not kick the winner of the Republican primary for governor off the ballot even if he violated state constitution requirements for governor. While Alabama is only one state, there are too many MAGA-controlled states that would allow Trump to win Republican primaries and get on the ballot despite his being constitutionally ineligible to serve, and claim he won the election — or would have won if lying, cheating Democrats had not stolen it — and ignore the Supreme Court even if the majority ruled he can’t serve.

Martin Selbst

Bald-faced lies

San Francisco: Sleepy Don has his head so far up there that he can’t see the forest for the trees. Fat Elvis has tried to tell the American people the stupidest lies ever, such as prices on groceries and everything else are “down, way, way down” and “the poll numbers are all fake news.” The Lyin’ King has also been claiming, “This is the best economy in history.” In a couple of weeks, the Deranged One will be confronted by reality. Undoubtedly, a stack of crazy, low-IQ and weird lies will follow.

Jimmy Layton

Pointless

Avon-by-the-Sea, N.J.: Asking fired Ambassador Kimberley Guilfoyle to testify before Congress will gain nothing. Like all politicians, she will lie. I would not expect anything less.

Robert Stiloski

Particularly effective

Manhattan: Looks like it’s our cars versus our health. Voicer David DiBello excoriated Gov. Hochul for charging him $9 to drive into Midtown and Lower Manhattan. He must speak for many. On the other hand, David’s and others’ financial hit, along with Hochul’s concern about our health, has secured exciting results. Columbia University scientists concluded that the partial congestion pricing program has reduced the “fine particulate matter” in the congestion zone by 13%. Those are particles smaller than 2.5 millionths of a meter in diameter — so small that they get past our limited defenses and into our tissues, bloodstreams and organs to cause lung, heart, kidney and other diseases. Thirteen percent! Thank you, David and governor. I look forward to the implementation of the full congestion pricing program and further health gains.

Lisa Meyer

Age discrimination

Brooklyn: I always thought a doctor is supposed to try to help all people. I recently had three elderly friends tell me the same story in a week. They went to an orthopedic surgeon and all three were told that because they were over 70, the doctor couldn’t see them. One is a veteran. He fought so these doctors refusing these people can have the jobs they have. I guess once we hit 70, we’re an afterthought. Now, if these doctors saw the patients and said because of your age, I don’t recommend surgery but we can try other things, I can accept that. However, to turn them away is a slap in the face. The body ages. It happens to all of us. I’m living proof with all my ailments. I just keep going as best I can. Life shouldn’t end because you’re 70.

John De Angelo

Fixate on state villainy, not statements Valley Stream, L.I.: I’m writing this letter in the hopes of getting…

[38
128,9,24,264,63,299,129,131,130
post-372756","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-the-bronx","tag-bronx","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-new-york-county","tag-nyc","tag-opinion","tag-the-bronx","tag-the-bronx-headlines","tag-the-bronx-news
["GET
