{"id":372975,"date":"2026-10-14T15:08:15","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T15:08:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/372975\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T15:08:15","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T15:08:15","slug":"man-detained-after-sneaking-into-30-rock-looking-for-today-show-host-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/372975\/","title":{"rendered":"Man detained after sneaking into 30 Rock looking for &#8216;Today&#8217; show host: Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC \">A man was arrested and charged with multiple hate crimes after he allegedly snuck into an NBC building at New York City&#8217;s Rockefeller Center on Thursday morning, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The suspect, 41-year-old Andrew Truelove, said he was looking for &#8220;Today&#8221; show weather anchor Al Roker, and he allegedly repeatedly uttered a racial slur, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">He also made other statements that lead police to believe he is emotionally disturbed, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Truelove was detained by an NYPD officer working a paid detail, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">He has been charged with burglary as a hate crime, menacing as a hate crime, criminal trespass as a hate crime and harassment<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">He has a recent arrest history, including twice in May, for criminal trespass and reckless endangerment and earlier in January for assault.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">He also was charged with criminal mischief on five separate occasions, from July to Sept. 2025, according to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">ABC News has reached out to NBC for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">This is a developing story.
