Despite the defeat, the Heat received encouraging performances from several younger players, including Ryan Conwell, who finished with 22 points and nine assists, and Vladislav Goldin, who contributed 18 points and six rebounds.

Tonight, the focus shifts back to Miami’s regular rotation.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Davion Mitchell are all available after sitting out Saturday’s game. However, Bam Adebayo will miss tonight’s contest with a groin injury, giving head coach Erik Spoelstra another opportunity to experiment with his frontcourt combinations.

The Nets arrive in Miami undefeated through three preseason games, featuring a roster led by Michael Porter Jr., Julius Randle and a developing group of young players.

With the regular season just one week away, tonight provides another opportunity for Miami to build chemistry, evaluate its depth and fine-tune its rotations before the games begin to count.

PROJECTED STARTING LINEUPS

Miami Heat

Davion Mitchell, PG

Klay Thompson, SG

Andrew Wiggins, SF

Nick Richards, PF

Giannis Antetokounmpo, C

Brooklyn Nets

Egor Dëmin, PG

Keon Ellis, SG

Michael Porter Jr., SF

Julius Randle, PF

Day’Ron Sharpe, C

INJURY REPORT / PLAYER AVAILABILITY

Miami Heat

Bam Adebayo — OUT (groin)

Dru Smith — OUT (calf)

Giannis Antetokounmpo — AVAILABLE

Klay Thompson — AVAILABLE

Andrew Wiggins — AVAILABLE

Davion Mitchell — AVAILABLE

Pelle Larsson — AVAILABLE (illness)

Keshad Johnson — AVAILABLE (hamstring)

Brooklyn Nets

Joshua Jefferson — OUT (back)

Mikel Brown Jr. — AVAILABLE (ankle)

GAME INFO

Matchup: Brooklyn Nets (3-0) at Miami Heat (2-1)
Date: Wednesday, October 14, 2026
Time: 7:30 PM ET
Location: Kaseya Center — Miami, Florida
TV: WPLG Local 10 (South Florida), YES Network (Brooklyn)
Radio: 104.3 FM / 1140 AM

With the regular season approaching, there are only a few opportunities left for Spoelstra to evaluate his roster and settle on his preferred rotations.

Tonight should provide another valuable look at Miami’s new-look lineup before opening night.

Let’s go HEAT!

***

To check out our other content, click here.

Follow Hot Hot Hoops on Twitter/X here!

Follow Hot Hot Hoops on Instagram here!

Subscribe to our YouTube channel here!

This is our GAMETHREAD: Chat live about the game here!
