The Plaza Hotel in New York will be closing for major renovations starting next year. <\/p>\n

The hotel, which has been a fixture in New York City for more than a century, will close in January 2027 for at least four years as crews work to restore and repair its landmark protected fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\n

“Since opening its doors in 1907, the hotel has maintained a distinctive place in the city\u2019s history, recognized for its architectural character, exceptional craftsmanship, and enduring presence,” the plaza said in a release about the closure<\/a>. “The Plaza Hotel is advancing plans for repair and restoration works to its landmark-protected fa\u00e7ade. The undertaking reflects the complexity of maintaining a property of such architectural and historical significance, with careful consideration given to preservation requirements and the building\u2019s long-term care, as well as the safety of our guests, employees, and the wider community.”<\/p>\n
